RS1 Completes Sebring Sweep as Random Vandals Racing and ACI Motorsports Claim Class Victories

The Pirelli GT4 America field returned to racing action at Sebring International Raceway for another demanding round in the Florida heat, with strategy, traffic, and late-race battles all playing key roles in shaping the final results. A Full Course Yellow was brought out six minutes into the race, but once the green flag returned with 45 minutes remaining, the intensity quickly ramped back up across all three classes.

It was a picture perfect weekend for both RS1 and Random Vandals Racing, who claimed back-to-back wins in Silver and Pro-Am, respectively. It the Am category, it was ACI Motorsports who took the top step.

Silver Class

RS1 continued its dominant form at Sebring, completing a perfect weekend with back-to-back victories in the Silver class. Luca Mars started the race on the front row, applying pressure for the outright lead before Tyler Gonzalez took advantage of an opening to move ahead. Mars responded shortly after, reclaiming the position following a close battle that included slight contact between the two competitors.

After the pit cycle, Spencer Pumpelly took over the No. 028 RS1 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport and maintained control at the front of the class, bringing the car home for another commanding win. Westin Workman and Tyler Gonzalez finished second in the No. 68 RAFA Racing Team Toyota Gazoo Racing GR Supra GT4 EVO2, while Bruno Colombo and Josh Green completed the Silver class podium in third for Random Vandals Racing in the No. 98 BMW M4 GT4.

“I just think this is a track that RS1 has been to a lot,” said Pumpelly. “It’s a track that Luca and I know well, and we’re learning every race. Sonoma wasn’t our best weekend, COTA was better, and I feel like all the pieces are coming together. Luca made it pretty easy for me. I was ahead of everybody by the time I got in the car, so my hat’s off to him and all the guys on this team.”

“It was a great race, definitely more eventful than yesterday, but also more fun,” added Mars. “The track was a little greasy, so it took me a bit to get up to speed, but I had some great battles with Tyler and Michael out there. We had a flawless pit stop, Spencer had a flawless drive, and the RS1 team has been on it all weekend.”

Pro-Am Class

Matheus Leist led the field overall from pole position in the No. 47 NOLASPORT Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport, while Kenton Koch in the No. 94 Random Vandals Racing BMW M4 GT4 and Michael Cooper in the No. 33 Blackdog Racing McLaren Artura GT4 battled closely behind for second and third in class.

Leist and Cooper extended their opening stints as long as possible while much of the field pitted earlier. Following the driver changes, Matt Travis retained the Pro-Am class lead for NOLASPORT, although he dropped behind Pumpelly in the fight for the overall lead. Behind him, Sam Craven began to charge in the No. 94 Random Vandals Racing BMW, pulling off an overtake on Tony Gaples shortly after the Blackdog Racing McLaren returned to the track.

With just over ten minutes remaining, Craven closed in on Travis for the class lead. Craven made the move with nine minutes to go and held on to secure the Pro-Am victory alongside Koch. Travis and Leist finished second for NOLASPORT, while Gaples and Cooper rounded out the podium for Blackdog Racing. The race also marked Gaples’ 272nd SRO start, equalling the all-time record.

“I had a lot of tire left,” said Craven. “Kenton did a much better job than I did yesterday. He left me a lot of tire, and that gave me what I needed to fight with Michael Cooper and Matt Travis. We had great battles with them.”

“We just have to keep the momentum going,” echoed Koch. “Sam did an incredible job from a racecraft perspective and setting that up. Passing cars with different strengths is tricky, so you have to figure out where you can make the move. Sam studied Matt, Matt stayed clean as he always does, and Sam was able to get it done.”

Am Class

The Am class battle was tight from the opening stages, with the top three running nose-to-tail. Alex Garcia led the way in the No. 21 ACI Motorsports BMW M4 GT4, followed closely by Denny Stripling in the No. 188 Random Vandals Racing BMW M4 GT4 and Lucas Catania in the No. 17 Rigid Speed Company BMW M4 GT4.

Garcia was the first of the front-running Am competitors to pit, handing the car over to Michael Garcia. The rest of the group stayed out one lap longer, but when the stops cycled through, Garcia managed to stay just ahead of the Random Vandals Racing entry, now driven by Judson Holt.

Behind them, James Walker Jr. used traffic to his advantage, climbing into third in the No. 36 BimmerWorld BMW M4 GT4 and effectively earning the Hard Charger distinction of the race. Garcia eventually built a strong lead out front, while the final podium order shifted late in the race. Michael and Alex Garcia claimed the Am class victory for ACI Motorsports, Walker finished second for BimmerWorld, and the No. 72 RAFA Racing Team Toyota Gazoo Racing GR Supra GT4 of Kenny Schmied and Anthony Geraci secured the final podium spot, relegating Holt and Stripling to fourth after an off-track excursion in the final laps.

“Relief is the word I feel,” said Michael Garcia. “We’ve had good pace, this car has been really good to us, but it’s just nice to actually celebrate on the top step.”

“It’s always a little anxious seeing your big brother out there leading, but I knew we had the pace and the car,” said Alex Garcia. “The team put together an amazing car and setup for us, and we knew if we kept it clean, we could be on top. Here we are.”
