After a long summer break, Pirelli GT4 America returned to action at Road America, reigniting the battle for the 2026 Global GT4 Manufacturer Championship.
BMW M has continued to build on the momentum that saw it take over the championship lead in the weeks prior, stretching its advantage to 1,145 points. Toyota remains in second with 1,060 points, while Porsche has mounted a comeback of its own and now sits just behind on 1,002 points.
With just four races remaining on the American calendar, the championship battle is entering its final stages. However, there is still plenty of racing to come around the globe, meaning every result will continue to play a role in determining the eventual manufacturer champion.
On the American side, the championship heads to Barber Motorsports Park in late September for the penultimate event of the season before concluding with a doubleheader at the historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
BMW M
BMW M enjoyed a good points haul at Road America, continuing its trend of collecting valuable points through a steady stream of podium finishes.
Random Vandals Racing opened the weekend with a third-place finish in the Silver class, with Bruno Colombo and Josh Green bringing the No. 98 BMW across the line on the podium in Race 1. Auto Technic Racing also delivered a runner-up result, with Stevan McAleer and Roland Krainz taking second in Pro-Am aboard the No. 19 entry. In the Am class, Denny Stripling and Judson Holt were promoted to third place in the No. 188 Random Vandals Racing BMW following a post-race time penalty issued to another competitor.
Race 2 produced another podium for the manufacturer, this time courtesy of Colorado Motorsport with Flying Lizard. Kris Wilson and Zach Lumsden brought the No. 413 BMW home in third place, providing another valuable result as BMW M continues to strengthen its position at the top of the global standings.
Toyota
Toyota continued to apply pressure to BMW M, now sitting 85 points behind BMW, with a couple of customer teams producing strong results throughout the Road America weekend.
Westin Workman and Tyler Gonzalez once again found their way onto the podium aboard the No. 68 RAFA Racing Team Toyota Gazoo Racing GR Supra GT4 EVO2 in Race 1, adding another strong result to their impressive campaign with a second place finish.
Precision Racing LA also benefited from post-race changes in Race 1, with Karl Forman and Ryan Eversley being promoted to third place in Pro-Am in the No. 03 Toyota. The result marked the duo’s first podium together and provided an important boost to Toyota’s manufacturer points total.
The RAFA Racing Team Toyota also featured on the Race 1 podium in the Am class, where Anthony Geraci and Kenny Schmied secured second place in the No. 72 entry.
Porsche
Porsche customer teams once again demonstrated impressive pace and consistency at Road America, with RS1 delivering one of the weekend’s standout performances.
Spencer Pumpelly and Luca Mars completed another weekend sweep in the Silver class, taking consecutive victories in the No. 028 Porsche and extending their championship lead. The result was made even more remarkable by the circumstances leading into the weekend. A crash during practice resulted in RS1’s primary car being destroyed, forcing the team to rely on a backup Porsche generously provided by fellow customer squad NOLASPORT. The team quickly adapted and turned the unexpected setback into a dominant double-victory weekend, continuing its remarkable run of form.
Elsewhere, ACI Motorsports added another Porsche podium in Race 2, with Yves Baltas and Jimmy Llibre finishing second in Silver aboard the No. 7 entry. In Pro-Am, teammates Damir Hot and Ryan Yardley brought the No. 25 ACI Motorsports Porsche home in third place.

There is no shortage of GT4 action on the horizon, with the global calendar continuing across some of the world’s most iconic circuits. Imola, Donington Park, Sachsenring, Sydney, and Zandvoort are all still to come, providing plenty of opportunities for BMW M, Toyota, Porsche, and the other manufacturers to add to their championship totals.
Meanwhile, Pirelli GT4 America returns to action at Barber Motorsports Park from September 25th to 27th for Rounds 10 and 11.
