RAFA Racing Team and Blackdog Racing Claim Overall Pole Positions at Barber

Pirelli GT4 America qualifying delivered a pair of standout performances at Barber Motorsports Park, with RAFA Racing Team and Blackdog Racing each securing an overall pole position ahead of the weekend’s two races.

Westin Workman put the No. 68 RAFA Racing Team Toyota at the sharp end of the field in Qualifying 1, while Michael Cooper continued Blackdog Racing’s remarkable run in Qualifying 2 by securing the team’s third consecutive overall pole this season.

Silver Class

Qualifying 1

With RAFA Racing Team looking to claw back ground in the Silver class championship, Westin Workman got the weekend off to the perfect start by taking pole position in class and overall with a lap of 1:28.488 in the No. 68 Toyota Gazoo Racing GR Supra GT4 EVO2.

Francis Seldorff will start alongside Workman on the front row in the No. 51 Auto Technic Racing BMW M4 GT4 (G82) EVO, while Trenton Estep made an immediate impact in his first weekend of the season with ACI Motorsports. Estep qualified third in Silver and overall in the No. 7 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport, finishing just 0.016 seconds behind Seldorff.

Qualifying 2

Parker DeLong led the Silver class in the second qualifying session, putting the No. 131 Advance Motorsports McLaren Artura GT4 second overall. RAFA Racing Team’s Tyler Gonzalez followed in the Silver class order, while championship leader Luca Mars qualified third in class with the No. 028 RS1 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport, giving the points leader a solid starting position for the second race of the weekend.

Pro-Am Class

Qualifying 1

Michael Tosi led the Pro-Am field in Qualifying 1 aboard the No. 77 McCumbee McAleer Racing Ford Mustang GT4 (S650). Sam Craven was close behind in the No. 98 Random Vandals Racing BMW M4 GT4 (G82) EVO, with the pair securing fifth and sixth overall, respectively, in a strong showing for the Pro-Am class.

Tony Gaples continued the impressive form of Blackdog Racing by qualifying third in class in the No. 33 McLaren Artura GT4, following his back-to-back victories at both Road Atlanta and Road America.

Qualifying 2

Michael Cooper put Blackdog Racing at the very top of the timing sheets in Qualifying 2, taking overall pole position in the No. 33 McLaren yet again. The result marks the third consecutive event this season at which Cooper and Blackdog Racing have secured an overall pole position.

Matheus Leist qualified second in Pro-Am and fourth overall in the No. 47 NOLASPORT Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport, with Kenton Koch placing third in class and fifth overall in the No. 98 Random Vandals Racing BMW M4 GT4 (G82) EVO.

Am Class

Qualifying 1

Michael Garcia topped the Am class in Qualifying 1, putting the No. 21 ACI Motorsports Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport an impressive eighth overall as the team switched to different machinery for the Barber weekend.

Laura Hayes qualified second in class in the No. 37 Dome Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GT4, while Frankie Muniz took third in Am aboard the No. 30 TechSport Racing Ford Mustang GT4 (S650). Muniz enters Barber fresh from a pair of victories at Road America, which were his first wins in the series, and will look to carry that momentum into this weekend.

Qualifying 2

Denny Stripling led the Am class in Qualifying 2 aboard the No. 188 Random Vandals Racing BMW M4 GT4 (G82) EVO. Alex Garcia followed in second in class in the No. 21 ACI Motorsports Porsche, with Lucas Catania completing the top three in the No. 17 Rigid Speed Company BMW.
