Thursday afternoon saw the Pirelli GT4 America take off for their first official practice session of the weekend in the season finale event at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. With only two races remaining and all three class titles still to be decided, each lap proved to be invaluable. A brief red flag emerged late in the session, but competitors were able to get back underway for their final laps of Practice 1. In the end, it was the No. 47 NOLASPORT Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport of Matt Travis and Matheus Leist who set the tone, going quickest with a time of 1:29.997, the only lap under the 1:30 mark. Second and third went to the Silver class championship rivals, the No. 68 RAFA Racing Team Toyota Gazoo Racing GR Supra GT4 EVO2 of Westin Workman and Tyler Gonazlez and the No. 028 RS1 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport of Luca Mars and Spencer Pumpelly. Fourth place was occupied by Tony Gaples and Michael Cooper in the No. 33 Blackdog Racing McLaren Artura GT4, and the No. 7 ACI Motorsports Porsche of Yves Baltas and Trenton Estep slotted into fifth.
