Muniz and Stone Complete Breakthrough Season with GT4 America Am Championship

When the final checkered flag of the season waved at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Frankie Muniz and Tyler Stone emerged as the 2026 Pirelli GT4 America Am champions, capping an impressive campaign behind the wheel of the No. 30 TechSport Racing Ford Mustang GT4 in which they transformed early promise into a sustained title challenge before delivering when the pressure was at its highest.

Their championship journey was built over the course of the entire season, beginning with a runner-up finish at Sonoma in their first race together. That opening result offered an early indication of the pairing's potential, but the challenge that followed was turning that promise into the consistency required to contend for a championship.

Muniz and Stone steadily built their pace as they gained experience with the Mustang GT4 and worked to establish themselves among the front-runners in the Am class. A third-place finish at Road Atlanta in the final race before the summer break provided another podium and a strong foundation for the second half of the season.

When the championship resumed, however, the TechSport Racing duo found another gear.

The return from the summer break proved to be the defining stretch of Muniz and Stone's season. At Road America, the pair secured their first victory of the season, serving as their long awaited breakthrough moment. They immediately followed that achievement with another win in the same weekend, establishing themselves as serious contenders for the championship.

The double victory marked a turning point as Muniz and Stone had unlocked the winning formula. The momentum continued at Barber Motorsports Park, and although they encountered a minor setback in Race 1, rather than allowing the result to derail their progress, they responded with another victory in Race 2, reinforcing their position in the championship fight.

“Cannot explain how it feels heading to Indianapolis leading the points by 1 for the final race weekend of the GT4 America Championship,” Muniz said ahead of the finale. “After winning 3 of the last 4, Tyler and I have real momentum going into the weekend.”

Despite their recent success, the championship remained far from secure. Their advantage could not have been smaller heading into Indianapolis, leaving virtually no room for error in the final doubleheader, and presenting them with one last test.

Rather than needing another pair of victories, Muniz and Stone focused on securing the results required to bring the championship home. Two runner-up finishes across the Indianapolis doubleheader provided exactly that, allowing them to maintain their advantage and close out the season as champions.

Their final tally of 204 points placed them 19 points clear of the runner-up pairing. The result also demonstrated how far the team had progressed since Sonoma. What began with a second-place finish in their first race developed into a season-long title challenge.

The championship also represents a major milestone for the drivers and the team, particularly for Muniz in his first season competing in GT4 America. Entering a new championship brings a learning curve, from adapting to the car and its characteristics to navigating the nature of multi-class racing and the competitive ups and downs of a full season.

Their title is a testament to the progress they made throughout the year and the composure they showed when the pressure was mounting, all culminating in the No. 30 Ford Mustang GT4 firmly at the head of the Am class.
