Epic Motorsports’ Randy Mueller Partners with BimmerWorld’s James Clay for 2019 SprintX Assault

Miami, FL – Epic Motorsports owner and lead driver Randy Mueller officially announced today that he will be joined by BimmerWorld Racing driver James Clay for the full 2019 season of Pirelli GT4 America SprintX. The duo will team up to drive the No. 3 Epic Motorsports BMW M4 GT4 for the East championship races – the platform that both organizations have been successfully campaigned for a full season.

“I am really excited to get the season started,” stated Mueller. “I have known James since I started racing and have raced with him or against him in other lower series in the past. Last year we had a great weekend when he joined us for the Rose Cup in Portland, and the two of us together should make a strong pairing this year.”

Echoing similar thoughts, James expanded on the duo’s competitive history. “Randy has always been a good friend, but often a fierce competitor. We have had some tremendous battles against each other on track, and while those weekends are a fun challenge, when I think about how to win a SprintX championship, I like the idea of both of us in the same car a lot more.”

Epic Motorsports has used the experience and knowledge gained in racing to build not only their BMW software tuning business, but also their race team pedigree, having claimed championships for both Mueller and countless customers in both pro and amateur ranks. Like all successful teams, Epic Motorsports relies on core partners to contribute to the team’s results.

“I am ecstatic to have Red Line Oil back on board,” said Mueller. “I have years under my belt personally building race engines, and I know that their products provide the best protection and performance. Additionally, Performance Friction Brakes is back as a core partner. We put their brake pads on the BMW M4 GT4 after last year’s CotA opener and the car just woke up! I can’t say enough about the benefit of having products you believe in not only on the car, but invested in the program, and I’m really thankful to have them with us.”

“Finally, along with James Clay comes BimmerWorld. If you have a BMW for the street, track, or a dedicated racecar, they have the best products to improve your car’s performance. It is a great relationship as I have been using and selling their parts since I started back in 2004 and they sell Epic Motorsports products as well. It is the perfect synergy and I believe our racing results will have the same.”

Additionally, OPTIMA Batteries and Lifeline Fire and Safety Systems will join the effort for the 2019 season.

The Pirelli GT4 America SprintX season kicks off this weekend at Circuit of the Americas just outside of Austin, TX. Qualifying will be held at 9:00 a.m. Central Saturday, with races following at 1:05 p.m. Saturday and 10:10 a.m. Sunday. The races will be streamed live on SiriusXM satellite radio. Live timing and scoring will be available through links on the series’ website at world-challenge.com.
