TRG- The Racer's Group's Spencer Pumpelly posted the fastest times in the first Pirelli GT4 Sprint practice at the Pirelli GT4 America Presented by CrowdStrike at the Streets of St. Petersburg. Pumpelly took the #66 Porsche 718 Cayman CS MR around the temporary street circuit for a fast lap time of 1:19.266.
Recording the second fastest time for the inaugural race was PF Racing's Jade Buford, driving the #41 Ford Mustang GT4. Buford's fastest lap at the circuit came in 0.023-seconds behind Pumpelly, at 1:19.289. In third was Team Panoz Racing driver Ian James with a 1:20.216 best lap in the #50 Panoz Avezzano GT4.
In the Sprint amateur class, Park Place Motorsports' #7 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 CS MR recorded the fastest lap with Alan Brynjolfsson at the helm. Shane Lewis, in the #72 Robinson Racing Chevrolet Camaro GT4, took the second am spot with a 1:20.402 lap while Andretti Autosport namesake Jarett Andretti took his #18 McLaren 570S GT4 to a 1:21.273 lap good for third.
Pirelli GT4 America sprint competitors next take to the course for Practice 2 on Friday at 3:20 pm EST.
