The first practice for Pirelli GT4 America ran under cloudy skies at Sebring International Raceway. The first on-track session for the weekend was paced by the #34 BMW M4 of James Walker and Bill Auberlen for BimmerWorld Racing in the Pro-Am category, with a time of 2:12.207. Second fastest in Pro-Am was the #119 BMW M4 of Sean Quinlan and Gregory Liefooghe for Stephen Cameron Racing, with a time of 2:12.745, placing third overall.
In the Silver class, with a time of 2:12.603, the #35 Mercedes-AMG of Michai Stephens and Colin Mullan with Conquest Racing West was quickest in class and second overall. Behind them, the #72 Mercedes-AMG of Christian Szymczak and Kenny Murillo were second fastest in Silver and ninth overall.
The #46 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 CLUBSPORT MR of David Walker and Russell Walker paced the Am field with a time of 2:13.669, ahead of Am competitors in the #16 Mercedes-AMG of Kris Wilson and John Allen for Capstone Motorsports (second in class) and the #7 Porsche of Sam Owen and Sean Gibbons, who were third in class.
Pirelli GT4 America is on track next for final practice at 3:35 PM ET. Qualifying is Saturday, October 2nd at 8:00 AM ET, followed by Race 1 at 11:00 AM ET, which is available to watch live on the GT World YouTube channel.
