Successful Maiden Pirelli GT4 America Season for Gavin Sanders

Mount Albert (ON), November 9, 2022 - Fresh off the final Pirelli GT4 America race of the season at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Gavin Sanders is still on cloud nine after taking home the title of Vice-Champion during his maiden SRO season.

“There was some major growth this year,” said Gavin Sanders, who had previously participated in the Nissan Sentra Cup in Canada. “Overall, it went very well. I enjoyed learning about endurance racing and traveling to the best tracks in North America.”

Gavin Sanders took a big step forward in his racing career this season, competing in a major endurance series in one of the best teams in the paddocks. “I learned a great deal and made a lot of progress from when I started at the beginning of the year, thanks in part to my teammate Michai Stephens. It was great to be able to learn from him and work together as a team.”

The duo scored many impressive results, climbing on to the podium 12 times out of a possible 14. They clinched two wins, the first one at Virginia International Raceway, and the second at Sebring International Raceway.

“It’s an extremely competitive series,” said Sanders, who co-drove the #34 Mercedes-AMG GT4 in the Silver Class. “Coming into GT4 America, I knew there was a high level of competition, but I wasn’t anticipating it to be quite this intense. We fought tooth and nail at every single event, leaving it all on track. Our crew did an outstanding job, giving us a capable Mercedes-AMG each session.”

Gavin went on to say, “I want to thank JMF Motorsports and John Farrow for their program. They gave me an extraordinary opportunity to compete this season. They believed in me and helped throughout the season with anything I needed.”

Aside from his successes South of the border, Gavin Sanders was back on track in the Streets of Toronto for the famed Honda Indy Toronto in the Sports Car Championship Canada (SCCC) for two races. He commanded a Mercedes-AMG GT4 to the win in an extremely tight field.

Gavin would also like to thank his partners, Fat Bastard Burrito, MOTOMASTER, Simoniz and Pro Series OE+, for their constant support. “I am lucky to have such engaging sponsors who want to see me succeed. They have helped me since my Micra Cup debut a few years ago and are still with me to this day. Their support means a lot to me and I’m looking forward to the future together.”
