The Nissan Z NISMO GT4 returns to action this weekend (Sept. 6-8) at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama, one of the most picturesque racetracks in North America. Known for its stunning performance and eye-catching design, the Nissan Z will be in the spotlight as teams compete in the penultimate weekend of the 2024 Pirelli GT4 America series.
This marks the first time the Pirelli GT4 America series will race at the Barber circuit, with all teams eager to claim the inaugural victory.
“This sophomore season for the Nissan Z NISMO GT4 program has brought increasing success with one class win and eight podium finishes so far,” said Mike Carcamo, Program Director, Sports Cars, NISMO Cars and Motorsports, Nissan Motor Corporation. “The teams are especially eager to finish the season strong at Barber and Indy as we look ahead to 2025.”
Nissan will be represented by three customer teams fielding four Nissan Z NISMO GT4 race cars, with support from Z1 Motorsports at the Z Owners Car Corral.
- TechSport Racing: Jonathan Neudorf and Johan Schwartz, who scored a podium in the #23 at Road America, will be joined by Colin Harrison and Elivan Goulart in the #22 car.
- Blackdog Racing: Tony Gaples and Michael Cooper will drive the #9 Z. In May, the Blackdog team made history with the first Pro-Am class win for the Nissan Z NISMO GT4 at Sebring. Gaples is currently the highest placed Nissan racer in the Pro-Am points chase, just one point behind fourth.
- Flying Lizard Motorsports: Damir Hot and Rodrigo Baptista will drive the #5 Z. The team has secured podium finishes at both VIR and Road America and is aiming for their first win in Alabama.
