Nissan Motorsports (NISMO) adds to the trophy case with strong Barber debut

Nissan’s customer race teams continued their successful sophomore season in the Pirelli GT4 America series with strong performances at Barber Motorsports Park. The debut at the scenic track saw impressive results on Saturday, with Flying Lizard Motorsports and Blackdog Racing securing top-five finishes. Flying Lizard Motorsports added another podium to their season tally, along with a Hard Charger award for gaining the most on-track positions.

However, Sunday’s race presented challenges, as both Flying Lizard and Blackdog Racing cars were involved in an early-lap, multi-car crash. Following a lengthy caution period, the TechSport Racing Nissan Z NISMO entries, piloted by Colin Harrison (#22) and Johan Schwartz (#23) capitalized on the opportunity. Harrison and Schwartz worked their way into the top three, with the TechSport cars finishing third and sixth at the checkered flag.

“This weekend was a superb demonstration of the strength of our customer teams.  On Saturday, Flying Lizard and Blackdog were our stars, and on Sunday, TechSport stepped up to the podium,” said Mike Carcamo, program director, Sports Cars, NISMO Cars and Motorsports, Nissan Motor Corporation. “There is no better place to conclude an American series than the world-famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway. We’re looking to end the season on a high note as we prepare for 2025.”
