Watkins Glen, NY - The second practice for Pirelli GT4 America finished under late afternoon sun at Watkins Glen International. The fastest lap of 1:55.791 was set by the #2 Aston Martin Vantage AMR driven by Andrew Davis for GMG Racing in the Pro-Am category. The #930 Audi R8 LMS GT4 driven by Tom Dyer for Carbahn was second quickest in the Pro-Am class, followed by the #79 Mercedes-AMG of Kyle Marcelli of RENNtech Motorsports.
The quickest drivers in the Silver class in the second practice was the #11 BMW M4 of Stevan McAleer, driving for Classic BMW, with a time of 1:56.146, fast enough for third overall. The next competitor in class, the championship leading #72 Mercedes AMG of Christian Szymczak, was 13th overall. In third, the #062 Aston Martin Vantage AMR of Ryan Dexter was just four thousandths behind Murillo. The #062 Aston Martin is currently tied for third with the #94 BMW M4 from BimmerWorld Racing in Silver class points.
As in the first practice, quickest in the Am category was the #09 Aston Martin Vantage AMR of Mikel Miller, driving for Automatic Racing, who set a time of 1:57.071. The next quickest car in class was the #46 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 CLUBSPORT MR driven by Russell Walker for NOLASPORT, followed by the third place #619 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 CLUBSPORT MR of Thomas Merrill, driving for Stephen Cameron Racing.
