Nolasport Set to Continue SprintX Season at VIR

New Orleans, LA. – Nolasport is set to continue its Pirelli GT4 America SprintX season when its Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsports return to competition April 26-28 at Virginia International Raceway (VIR) in Danville, VA.

After a seven week break in action the Nolasport team is proud to bring two of 14 unique Porsche entries to VIR. The 3.27 mile circuit is a favorite of the team's drivers. The track's uphill esses and sharp elevation changes present some of the best a natural terrain road course has to offer. Matt Travis and Jason Hart will continue their pursuit of the Pirelli GT4 America SprintX championship in the Nolasport 47 and the Vess Energy/Nolasport 46 will be piloted by Mike Vess and John Capestro-Dubets.

The long break allowed the team to take stock of the changes in BoP that had been handed out through the season opening round at COTA. The newfound ride height and additional weight the cars now bear took some of the fun out of the drive. The team has worked diligently to get the all of the fun to drive back in the cars.

Following a dramatic finish at COTA, Matt Travis is itching to get back to competition, 'Seeing the Pirelli GT4 America racing happen over the past few weeks has only fueled the fire to compete. VIR is a track that I enjoy and as much as COTA feels like just yesterday, it feels like it's been forever since we were on track. Its time to go racing.'

Jason Hart looks forward to the team getting back together. 'This is a team that's like family. We have a solid, hard-working group and we have so much fun together. I'm coming off a blessed Easter Sunday with three very competitive egg hunts with my girls under my belt and feel well prepared. VIR has always been one of my favorite tracks and I can't wait to get back to work in Pirelli GT4 America SprintX competition.'

Mike Vess is eager to get back to work in the Vess Energy Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport. 'The Nolasport team prepares such a great Porsche, I come to the track filled with confidence in the team and the car. I've always enjoyed racing at VIR and the challenges the circuit presents. I look forward to VIR and getting to work with the team, Jason and my codriver John Capestro-Dubets.'

John Capestro-Dubets gets to head back to the track where his racing career began. JCD made his first ever race start years ago in a Skip Barber series race at VIR. The opportunity to get another run with Mike Vess in the Vess Energy/Nolasport Porsche has put the San Diego native over the moon. 'I'm equally stoked, humbled and grateful to have the opportunity to race with Mike again. The Nolasport team gave me the best car I've ever driven at COTA and I cannot wait to get to VIR.'

The Nolasport Porsches will be on track Friday April 26 for practice. Saturday, April 27, Race 1 begins at 4:50pm eastern and Sunday, April 28, will have Race 2 at 4:10pm Eastern.
