TPC Racing with Dream Racing Completes Encouraging Debut of New GT4 McLaren at Road America

TPC Racing and team driver Alan Grossberg completed a successful debut race with the new TPC Racing with Dream Racing No. 102 McLaren Artura GT4 last weekend in a Saturday and Sunday GT America powered by AWS doubleheader at Road America.

Placing the emphasis on completing as many laps as possible and learning all aspects of the mid-engine GT4-specification McLaren, both TPC Racing and Grossberg left Road America with a wealth of new knowledge and plenty of positives to build on.

One of the unplanned benefits of the full four-day schedule was Grossberg and the team being able to run and work on the car in a variety of weather conditions. Thursday's pre-event test, Friday's opening official practice sessions and Saturday's first 40-minute of the race were all run in primarily rainy conditions.

Grossberg and TPC focused on surviving the Saturday opener to finish the wet race and learn as much about their new car and the nuances of racing in the rain in SRO competition.

Sunday's final sprint was run in cloudy and cool but dry conditions and Grossberg put in his best run in the McLaren all weekend. He improved one race position for a sixth place GT4 finish and ripped off a weekend-best lap time on the checkered flag lap nearly 4/10ths faster than his qualifying time.

Next up for TPC Racing is another GT America doubleheader at Barber Motorsports Park, September 6 - 8, where Grossberg returns for his second full weekend in the TPC Racing with Dream Racing No. 102 McLaren Artura GT4.

Harris Levitas, TPC Racing Director of Race Operations: "The TPC Racing team did an amazing job all week. Alan was able to put in some laps in the car out West prior to the weekend, but the McLaren Arturas GT4 was completely new to us prior to getting to Road America. We didn't have a lot of time to go through the car before the event because the timelines were pretty tight to make this change, but we are extremely happy with the support we have received from McLaren Customer Racing and Susan and Cy Jary at CSJ Motorsports. They helped us get started in the right direction, and we were also fortunate to hire the proper engineering staff for this program who have experience with McLaren with the 570 and when the Artura first started racing. We had a really good handle on the car right out of the trailer, and we will continue to learn the McLaren Artura GT4. We're looking forward to the remainder of 2024 and all of the options that are available within the McLaren Artura GT4 platform for 2025."

Alan Grossberg, Driver, No. 102 TPC Racing with Dream Racing McLaren Artura GT4: "There's a lot for me to build on. For me, it's mostly about getting used to the car. Road America was my first race in the McLaren, really my first serious time in this setup, and I have a long way to go to learn this car, but it was great all weekend. We will hopefully close the gap as we go, but the car is better than the driver at the moment! I like being in GT4, but not bringing up the rear of the field, but as I get familiar with these guys in the series, my goal is to inch my way up into that pack and see how far we can go. This is a great collaboration between TPC Racing and Dream Racing, they always have my back, and TPC is here making it happen for me and does a fantastic job of maintaining and preparing the car. Along with the incredible support from McLaren, these three groups really worked hard to get the car ready, prepped and the setup right for the first race. It was the only way we got through the weekend."
